Carter & Joe’s Modern Wedding at St. Louis Art Museum

Carter & Joe inquired with Leighwood Design Studio early in their planning process (even before they had a wedding planner!) Together we worked on curating the perfect save the dates, invitation suite, and day-of items. They wanted their design to feel sophisticated, yet earthy and laid back, a lot like them as a couple. Throughout the whole design we went with really organic colors—sand, taupes, some greens. 

For their save the dates Carter and Joe went with the Casey collection, but for their invitation suite we went with the Lora suite because it captured their essence perfectly. They chose to upgrade to handmade paper for their entire suite and we used a pressed floral paper for their envelope liners to really play into the organic feel. The hand torn edges gave this suite an even more organic and natural feel that really added a personal touch. It literally was a perfect suite. 

For their day-of items, we kept the same tone, but had more fun with the pieces through the copy—especially for their unique multi-board welcome sign. They also did handmade paper escort cards and fun cocktail napkins, hyping up the St. Louis classic, gooey butter cake. 

It was a perfect balance of elegance, that fit into the Art Museum vibe, yet approachable and young. Keep scrolling to get a little sneak into their wedding day!
